AVAILABLE CERTIFICATIONS

The Certified First Responder Exam comprises 50-70 scored items, with candidates given 1.5 hours to complete the test. Also referred to as Emergency Medical Responder, First Responder, or Rescuer, individuals at this level have undergone approximately 40 to 200 hours of prehospital care training.

The Basic Level Prehospital Care Provider exam comprises 120-135 scored items, with candidates allotted 3 hours to complete the test. This level, commonly known as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT: USA), Auxiliary Prehospital Nurse (Colombia), Basic Prehospital Care Provider, or Ambulance Officer (Australia), Paramedic Assistant or Attendant, requires candidates to have completed approximately 200 to 1000 hours of prehospital care training.

The Advanced Level Prehospital Care Provider exam comprises 125-150 scored items, with candidates allotted 3 hours to complete the test. This level is for candidates with over 1000 hours of training. Also known as Advanced Life Support Provider or Paramedic (USA, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom), Technologist (Colombia), Técnico Superior Universitario or TSU (Mexico), this level requires advanced skills in assessing and treating complex medical conditions.
